Writers Group

Join Kathy Collard Miller on the First Saturday of the month (except for some holiday weekends) from 9-10 a.m. (via zoom) for an hour of conversation with other writers. Get to Know the Co-Leaders: Kathy and Cindi

Kathy Collard Miller is an award-winning author, speaker, and lay-counselor who has authored more than 50 books including the popular Daughters of the King Bible Study Series, commentaries, and books on spiritual growth. She has authored hundreds of articles over the years and has spoken at women’s events and retreats in 8 foreign countries and over 30 U.S. states. She has also appeared on numerous national radio and TV shows, including The 700 Club, Joy, and 100 Huntley Street. She is the award-winning and best-selling author of the God’s Vitamin “C” for the Spirit series (co-compiled with her husband, Larry). Kathy and  Larry are lay counselors and give “soul care” counseling to individuals and couples. Their goal is to help Christians deal with the underlying causes of their ungodly reactions, using principles from their book, Never Ever Be the Same.  Kathy is an alumni of CLASS (Christian Leaders, Authors, Speakers Seminar) and is a founding member of AWSA (Advanced Writers and Speakers Association). She also holds memberships in CAN (Christian Authors Network) and NEWIM. She and Larry live in Southern California and they are the parents of two grown children and grandparents to two. Kathy loves to offer—through her writing and speaking—God's healing power and practical ideas for changing hearts and lives. For more on her background, available books, and current ministry, see her website:  www.KathyCollardMiller.com.

Cindi McMenamin is an award-winning writer and national speaker who helps women strengthen their relationship with God and with others. She has authored 19 books, all from Harvest House Publishers, including When Women Walk Alone (more than 160,000 copies sold), When Women Long for RestWhen a Woman Discovers Her Dream, and When God Sees Your Tears. Cindi and her husband, Hugh, co-authored When Couples Walk Together: 31 Days to a Closer Connection and Cindi's daughter, Dana, collaborated with her to write When a Mom Inspires Her Daughter. Cindi’s newest book, which will release in 2025, is called The New Loneliness: Nurturing Meaningful Connections When You Feel Isolated. Cindi writes regularly for Crosswalk.com and other online sites and continues to speak across the country for women’s conferences and retreats. Cindi has also appeared on numerous national television and radio shows, including James Dobson's Family Talk and Moody Broadcasting Network. Cindi is the founder and former president of NEWIM's Inland Empire chapter, a CLASS-trained speaker, and an AWSA-certified Writing Coach and Communications Specialist, who has helped writers become published authors for the past 20 years. Writers' Getaway, Spring 2025, in Three Rivers, CA. 

Longtime authors and NEWIM members Kathy Collard Miller and Cindi McMenamin continue to team up to provide resources, encouragement and some next steps for writers affiliated with NEWIM. They will be offering encouragement, instruction and one-on-one coaching just prior to The Springs retreat in Three Rivers, CA.

A Writer's Resource

Kathy has made "Writing as a Ministry for God's Glory" available as a free downloadable resource. You’ll find in the eight chapters information about writing articles, personal experiences, devotionals, Christian Living books, and fiction. You also learn about basic editing, marketing, and balancing non-writing duties. Kathy is the author of over 50 books and will walk you through this information in a practical and understandable way.
